Losses from inventory shrink and cybercrime can bring a retailer to its knees. NRF PROTECT offers ways to prevent that from happening.
Join technology firm Multimedia Plus and a host of other attendees at the National Retail Federation’s annual NRF PROTECT, Retail’s Loss Prevention and Cyber Risk Event, being held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., June 11-13.
Theft, shoplifting and other loss prevention issues cost retailers around the world nearly $100 billion in lost sales each year, according to the Sensormatic Global Shrink Index. Nearly 75 percent of respondents to the NRF’s 2018 Organized Retail Crime Survey said they’ve seen an increase in such crime over the past 12 months.
As a result, it’s critical for retailers to take every step they can to combat the problem. That journey begins at NRF PROTECT.
The event will host more than 2,500 retail security professionals as they learn from industry leaders, gain real-world knowledge and explore new products. Loss prevention and cybersecurity experts will share insights and strategies vital to protecting retail operations.
NRF PROTECT features 2½ days of educational sessions, networking opportunities and an extensive EXPO Hall, giving attendees the tools they need to protect the people, assets and brands they serve. More than three dozen speakers will share their expertise, with the lineup to include Christian Beckner, senior director, retail technology, with the National Retail Federation; Rob Holm, director, global security with McDonald’s Corp.; and Keith White, EVP, loss prevention & global sustainability with Gap Inc.
Also featured will be more than 160 vendors offering a host of products and services designed to aid with loss prevention.
Protection starts with staff
Because well-trained employees are key to managing loss prevention and cyber risks, Multimedia Plus will be demonstrating INCITE 5.0, the latest version of its INCITE mobile Associate Communications Platform.
INCITE helps retailers train associates and deliver awareness programs via state-of-the-art features including:
Video without streaming
Drag and drop publishing
Quick and easy deployment
Security and scalability
INCITE already serves as the tool of choice for several major retail brands to train and improve communications with front-line sales associates via interactive, in-store mobile devices. In addition to helping create an improved shopping experience for consumers and reduce losses due to theft and cybercrime, the INCITE platform provides managers and executives with access to data-rich metrics from bite-sized video-based communications and training programs. They can then measure that data against key performance indicators at levels ranging from individual associates to the entire organization, using those measurements to make informed decisions that will drive growth.
